Disaster Preparedness

What happens when we work together?  Central, Southeast, and Southeast Central Ohio is prepared for anything.

The Central Ohio Trauma System (COTS) coordinates the Central Ohio Regional Healthcare Emergency Preparedness (RHEP) Coalition and the Southeast/Southeast Central Ohio Healthcare Coalition (SEOHC).  The RHEP Coalition and the SEOHC is a public-private partnership that facilitates, supports, and strengthens healthcare and related entities to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies.

Together, we build capabilities that can’t be achieved alone.

COTS offers a Healthcare Incident Liaison (HIL) that leads a regional effort to build a disaster resilient healthcare system.

Since 1996, whether responding to an immediate surge of patients or an infectious disease outbreak, COTS has established the relationships, systems, and plans needed to ensure a coordinated regional response to any crisis.

COTS disaster preparedness partners collaborate with the Emergency Services and Trauma divisions to ensure best outcomes for the ill and injured experiencing a disaster or mass casualty event in Central Ohio.
